Animals in Dutch sculptural art - Joseph Mendes da Costa, Lambertus Zijl, Johan Altorf and John Rädecker

This presentation comprises animal sculptures by Joseph Mendes da Costa, Lambertus Zijl, Johan Altorf and John Rädecker. Helene Kröller-Müller regularly acquired work from these artists and commissioned both Altorf and Rädecker to make sculptures for her estate. These are still standing in their original positions in The Hoge Veluwe National Park, such as Rädecker’s Hinde (Doe), for instance. Some of the animal sculptures presented in the museum come from the Sint Hubertus Hunting Lodge.
