‘Dijkshoorn kijkt kunst’ live in the Kröller-Müller Museum (14.00 hrs.)
To mark the publication of his latest book ‘Dijkshoorn kijkt kunst’, Nico Dijkshoorn will give a live spoken commentary (in Dutch) on paintings from the museum’s collection on Sunday 2 December. The presentation begins at 14.00 hrs in the museum’s auditorium and is followed by a book signing. Admission is free for everyone with a valid ticket for the museum.Nico Dijkshoorn already compiled a successful audio tour for the Kröller-Müller Museum in early 2012; a long-cherished ambition of his. He wrote new texts to accompany several works of art and recorded them himself. The book ‘Dijkshoorn kijkt kunst’ includes not only the texts and images of the tour, but also a larger selection of works, to which Nico adds his observations. Once you have viewed a work through his eyes, you will never view it the same again.
Nico Dijkshoorn is a Dutch columnist and author. In early 2012 he published the novel ‘Nooit ziek geweest’ and the Boekenweekessay (Book Week Essay) ‘Verder alles goed’.
Nico Dijkshoorn presents ‘Dijkshoorn kijkt kunst’ for the first time on Monday 19 November in the TV programme De Wereld Draait Door. The book is published by Uitgeverij Atlas Contact in Dutch only and is available in the museum shop and the web shop (€ 15,00).
